Nike: Brands In Focus.

IMG_5091.JPG

Founded by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight and eventually branding itself as ‘Nike’ in 1971, this sportswear brand is not only now a household name, but an icon of fashion, pop culture and sport.

From the release of their slogan ‘Just Do It’ in 1988, the brand that got its name from the Greek Goddess of victory, shows no signs of losing its victorious prominence in our culture. Collaborations with icons just as great as the brand itself, such as Michael Jordan and his famous ‘Nike Air Jordan’ or the 2012 and 2014 release of ‘Nike Air Yeezy’ with Kanye West have fixed Nike as one of the reigning brands that stands emblematic of status, subculture and trend.

And it’s good news for vintage lovers, because as long as Nike keeps its mantle as one of the most successful sportswear brands in the world, there will always be some smashing staple vintage pieces of Nike clothing; even shoes! So here is our little shrine of favourites, praise Nike!
